Paul was born in Ireland, qualified as an Electrical Engineer, and started life in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and HSBC in London before taking on a variety of senior executive roles in early stage ventures. After many years in software, asset rental and logistics businesses, Paul conceived PALIoT with Rich Macdonald and identified the technology needed to bring PALIoT’s vision to life; A pallet whose positive impact on the environment keeps increasing as more of them are manufactured and deployed. When Paul’s not working, you are likely to find him coaching one of his sons’ sports teams or looking for a rugby match to watch somewhere.
Rich has been in pallet pooling and manufacturing for the last 14 years, always with new and innovative products and technology. Rich was a co-author of the first ever approved carbon methodology for lightweight pallets by the VCS and has since gone on to author working papers on digital MRV (Measurement, Reporting, Verification) for Scope 3 emissions in pooled pallets and 3rd generation DLT (Digital Ledger Technology) solutions for the monetization of standardized sustainability benefits in the supply chain. Prior to working in pallets, Rich had 23 years in high volume manufacturing and commercialization of automotive products.
