The Pallet

PALIoT’s patent-pending ‘force plate’ wood substrate design, combined with a secret polyurea coating formula, results in a unique shipping platform for the food cold chain. This tough, lightweight sustainable pallet is engineered to require almost no repairs throughout its 10-year life cycle. It offers all the benefits of a traditional wood or plastic pallet but none of the downside.

Impervious to Fluids

Coating completely encapsulates the substrate resulting in a dimensionally and structurally consistent pallet. Ideally suited for usage in automated environments.

Bio-Secure

Coating formula incorporates anti-microbial and anti-fungal additives to help eliminate the transmission of pathogens in the food cold chain. Complete traceability in the event of any outbreaks. 

Designed for Limited Repairs

Simplified Service Center operations without the need for annual repair work. Pallet comfortably absorbs the day-to-day abuse that these platforms are subjected to in the supply chain.

ISO8611 and UL/FM Certification Underway 

Critical for rentals in the Retail Supply Chain, pallet is outperforming conventional products on every test metric. Pallet can edge rack >6,500 pounds.

ADVANCED MANUFACTURING

Lean and Environmentally Conscious

  • CNC MACHINING

    Wood raw material is cut to pallet size and shape and any unutilized raw material is recycled. The machined top deck, force plate and runner are transferred to the assembly line.
  • PALLET SUBSTRATE ASSEMBLY

    The top and bottom of the pallet are assembled with the blocks on an automated line. PALIoT uses a proprietary adhesive in this process so that no nails or screws are required.
  • INTEGRATED MODULE EMBEDDED

    The sensor is placed in its own ‘pocket,’ optimally positioned to protect it from potential damage resulting from poor pallet handling over the course of its life. Now the pallet is ready for the coating.
  • POLYUREA COATING APPLIED

    The finished substrate is transferred to the automated coating booth. A fully enclosed ‘wet’ coating booth sprays the fast-curing polyurea on all parts of the pallet. Any overspray is collected, dried and recycled.
  • FINISHED PALLET

    Finally, the newly manufactured pallet has a 1D barcode and a QR Code laser etched on to the exterior sides of the pallet. It is then ‘birthed’ into the PALIoT Master Asset Pool, stored in the AERON Cloud Engine, and ready to be shipped to customers.

PALIoT embeds its proprietary sensor in every pallet and customers can track their product and inventory levels with the click of a mouse. PALIoT has an exclusive global license to the MIST Mesh Networking protocol so all the assets speak to each other, all the time, within a military grade security framework. In combination with an LTE Cat M1 cellular modem, GPS, RFID and separate 1D Barcode and QR code (Laser etched on side of asset), the asset rental ‘cycle’ and its specific communication needs are completely covered.
